Teaching & Private Instruction

Create an environment for students to be curious and self-motivated, with guidance and inspiration given freely and gently….

Libby teaches privately out of her home in the Glenview district of Oakland, Ca. She teaches all levels and all styles of piano players, all levels and styles of singers, plus piano accordion players interested in learning about celtic accordion playing as well as how to accompany other players on accordion.

Libby has been teaching privately since 1980, with a steady clientele of students of all ages and levels. Her approach to teaching all ages and levels is Montessori based: “Create an environment for students to be curious and self-motivated, with guidance and inspiration given freely and gently.” She has a great way with all students, very supportive as well as being fun, funny, and interested in knowing who her students are and what makes them tick musically.

Her holistic and creative approach allows her students to find their own style, be that classically trained or improvisational.

You seem to have such a depth of understanding of how children learn, tricks to teach them be interested and want to practice. We are so glad we found you!
